A prepare that derailed in western Arizona Wednesday night was carrying corn syrup, the railroad stated, after the county sheriff’s workplace stated it might have been carrying hazardous supplies.
“BNSF Railway can affirm {that a} prepare carrying corn syrup derailed” round 7:40 p.m., firm spokesperson Lena Kent informed CNN in an electronic mail. “There have been no accidents on account of the derailment and preliminarily reviews point out there are not any hazardous supplies concerned.”
The derailment occurred in Mohave County, Arizona, close to the state’s border with California.
A spokesperson for the Mohave County Sheriff’s Workplace earlier stated the prepare was reportedly carrying hazardous supplies.

The derailment comes every week after one other prepare careened off the tracks in rural West Virginia, injuring three crew members and spilling diesel gasoline into a close-by river, and over a month after a fiery derailment in East Palestine, Ohio, launched doubtlessly hazardous chemical compounds into the air, soil and water and required in depth cleanup efforts.
The Nationwide Transportation Security Board has been notified of the incident and is responding to research, Mortensen stated.
