Special counsel in U.S. Justice Department’s Trump probes: I will be independent

Nov 18 (Reuters) – Jack Smith, named on Friday as particular counsel to supervise the Justice Division’s investigations into former U.S. President Donald Trump’s dealing with of delicate paperwork and the 2020 election aftermath, stated he could be quick and unbiased in his work.

“I’ll train unbiased judgement and can transfer the investigations ahead expeditiously and completely to no matter consequence the information and the regulation dictate,” Smith stated in an announcement launched by the division.
