Inside two minutes of their arriving, police started ordering them to “stop and desist.” As an alternative, they sat on the road, and had been one after the other led off by officers as they chanted, “The individuals, united, won’t ever be divided.”
The US Capitol Police tweeted: “Demonstrators are beginning to block First Avenue, NE. It’s towards the legislation to dam site visitors, so officers are going to present our commonplace three warnings earlier than they begin making arrests.”
Capitol Police later mentioned that they had arrested 34 individuals complete, together with 16 members of Congress.
