In all places you go in Doha over the previous week, you may hear individuals speaking about Lionel Messi.

1000’s of individuals – making a sea of blue and white – have come to observe their hero in what’s prone to be his final World Cup match.

It appears you don’t have to be from Argentina to be a fan of the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner.

“I get to see the person himself,” Belal Ahmed, who traveled from the US to observe Messi play, instructed CNN Sport.

“It took some time, the flight from the US to Saudi Arabia was about 12 hours. I had a layover there for twenty-four hours after which obtained right here (Doha) two hours later.

“I’m right here to see different video games, however yeah, primarily to see Messi.”

Messi is a reputation that appears to bridge any language barrier, with followers coming over and chanting the ahead’s title as Ahmed spoke with CNN.

Messi is undoubtedly the most well-liked participant amongst followers in Doha, with many looking for a ticket to observe him within the flesh.

The World Cup is the one trophy not but within the celebrity’s cupboard, and the 35-year-old is within the last-chance saloon at Qatar 2022.

He has the Argentine squad forward 1-0 after the primary half of its match towards Australia Saturday.
