CBP intercepts shipment of fake driver’s licenses in Cincinnati

US Customs and Border Safety (CBP) intercepted a cargo of counterfeit driver’s licenses coming via the Cincinnati Port of Entry, the company stated in a press release on Tuesday.

“Counterfeit driver’s licenses are utilized by younger adults who haven’t but reached the authorized ingesting age,” Cincinnati Port Director Richard Gillespie stated within the assertion.

“We would like these college-age college students to understand that they’re enabling prison enterprises,” Gillespie continued. “Our officers right here in Cincinnati are dedicated to safeguarding the American public, and that features stopping fraudulent paperwork similar to these counterfeit driver’s licenses from getting into the US.”

CBP officers have seized 47 shipments containing a complete of 119 counterfeit US driver’s licenses from everywhere in the nation because the begin of February, the company stated. All of them originated from Hong Kong and had been headed to properties all through the nation. The licenses had been all hid inside books and paperwork.

The CBP says counterfeit licenses can be utilized to facilitate different crimes.
