A storm system lashing states from Oklahoma into the Midwest introduced tornadoes and hail to Arkansas Monday.

A twister emergency was declared by the Nationwide Climate Service workplace in Little Rock, Arkansas, for a confirmed giant and damaging twister.

“A big, extraordinarily harmful, and doubtlessly lethal twister is on the bottom,” the Nationwide Climate Service stated in a tweet at 8:34 p.m. CT. “To guard your life, TAKE COVER NOW!”

The climate service stated the twister was reported by an observer at Little Rock Air Pressure Base.

At 8:19 p.m. CT, the climate service reported the twister was positioned over Olmstead, or close to the air base, shifting east at 35 mph. Olmstead is about 15 miles north of downtown Little Rock.
