Wisconsin wins home finale, tops Rutgers 78-66

MADISON, Wis. (WSAW) – The Wisconsin men’s basketball team picked up a much-needed home win, beating Rutgers 78-66 to end their season at the Kohl Center with a victory.

The two sides played a tight first half, with Wisconsin leading by two at the break 34-32. AJ Storr led the way in the first half for the Badgers with ten points. Wisconsin widened the gap in the second half, anchored by a strong night shooting from three. The Badgers shot 47% from three, as opposed to Rutgers’ 33%. Wisconsin went on to win the game by 12, giving them a win in their home finale. Storr was the leading scorer with 19 points while Steven Crowl and John Blackwell each had 17.

The Badgers improve to 19-11 with the win and 11-8 in the Big Ten. They end the regular season on the road on Sunday, visiting number three Purdue. The game tips off at 11:30 a.m.
