University of Wisconsin professors receive fellowship awards
MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – Three College of Wisconsin professors have been awarded a sought-after fellowship.
English Professor Elizabeth Bearden, Public Affairs Professor Jason Fletcher, and Geoscience Professor Stephen Meyers have acquired 3 of a complete 171 2023 Guggenheim Fellowships, UW introduced. There have been 2,500 whole candidates throughout the U.S. and Canada.
Bearden research early fashionable literature and focuses on the usage of verbal description for visible illustration. Her second ebook, launched in 2019, gained the Tobin Siebers Prize for Incapacity Research within the Humanities, UW defined.
Fletcher’s analysis focuses social networks and their results on youngsters’s bodily and psychological well being, specializing in how youth experiences affect later life. He gained a William T. Grant Basis Award to assist his analysis into genetics and social settings in baby improvement.
Meyers based the Tadada Scientific Lab, which mixes science with music, artwork, poetry and extra. His analysis explores the paleoclimate. His Fellowship award is a part of the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Basis’s Local weather Change Fund, UW stated.
The Guggenheim Basis was based in 1925 and has awarded over $400 million in Fellowship awards.
