Kenseth, Stricker among those inducted into Wisconsin Athletic Hall of Fame

MILWAUKEE (WMTV) – The Wisconsin Athletic Hall of Fame announced their 74th class with names fans are sure to recognize!

Edgerton-native golfer Steve Stricker and Cambridge-native NASCAR driver Matt Kenseth were inducted.

Packers Super Bowl winning head coach Mike Holmgren. Brewers’ All-Star Silver Slugger and All-Star, Prince Fielder were also inducted

The foursome were inducted this Saturday in downtown Milwaukee at an event hosted by Donald Driver. For the guys, all they could talk about was the honor that it is to be inducted.

“What an honor, right?” Stricker said. “It’s kind of shocking in one regard that I’m this old and going into something like this, but on the other hand, it seems to have happened so fast. It feels like junior golf and first years on pro were just a few years ago.”

“I read through all the names of all the other people who have been inducted into this,” Kenseth said. “To me, it never feels like my name belongs with those, so it’s just a big honor.”
