GOP U.S. Senate candidate Eric Hovde is on the air with a new spot featuring his wife, Sharon, who calls her husband a natural leader.

Hovde’s campaign said it put $700,000 behind the statewide buy on TV, cable and satellite. That’s on top of a seven-figure, seven-week buy the campaign announced last week.

The 60-second spot opens with Sharon Hovde saying her husband is a fourth generation Wisconsinite who graduated from Madison East High School and “then became a proud Badger.”

She ticks off his business accomplishments, adding family always came first. She then mentions the foundation he started that focuses on homelessness and rescues children from abuse, sex trafficking and slavery. She closes the spot calling him a man of integrity who’s principled, honest and straightforward.

“These are the qualities I want in a U.S. senator to fight for Wisconsin. How about you?” she says.
