SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – During the 2024 Tourism Conference, a prominent advocate for the South Dakota tourism industry announced they would be rebranding.

The Tourism Coalition of South Dakota, previously the Visitor Industry Alliance, plans to increase legislative advocacy efforts and build alliances within the tourism industry.

The rebrand is meant to, “[Signal] a more concerted focus on legislative defense and advocacy on behalf of South Dakota’s tourism sector.”

The organization plans to overhaul its internal structures, including updating by-laws and fine-tuning its board structure in an effort to strengthen its legislative defense capabilities.
