T. Denny Sanford won’t face child pornography charges in South Dakota

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota Information Now) – T. Denny Sanford received’t face little one pornography expenses in South Dakota.

In line with a court docket doc obtained by Dakota Information Now, the Division of Prison Investigation has completed its investigation into Sanford’s case.

Deputy Lawyer Common Brent Kempema ready the doc. It says there aren’t any prosecutable offenses inside the jurisdiction of the state of South Dakota.

It’s not clear whether or not Sanford is underneath investigation or may face expenses in different states or jurisdictions.

The investigation was first reported in August of 2020, after ProPublica reported that South Dakota’s richest man and most distinguished philanthropist, was being investigated for potential possession of kid pornography.

In an announcement to Dakota Information Now, Sanford’s legal professional Marty Jackley mentioned “Mr. Sanford appreciates the general public acknowledgment by the South Dakota Lawyer Common’s Workplace that the DCI has concluded its investigation they usually have discovered no prosecutable crime.”

Sanford was not initially named in court docket paperwork. His identify was solely revealed after a lawsuit filed by the Argus Chief and ProPublica.

Jackley, who’s operating for South Dakota Lawyer Common, says he’ll now not be representing Sanford.
