South Dakota women rout Denver on the road
DENVER — The South Dakota women put together a complete game on Thursday night, and the result was a 78-48 romp of Denver inside Hamilton Gymnasium.
Four Coyotes charted double digits, and USD shot 55 percent from the field for the game. Grace Larkins had a game-high 17 points on 6-of-8 shooting, Kendall Holmes added 13 points on 4-of-7 from the field, and Carley Duffney and Olivia Kieffer each notched 12 points.
USD (17-8, 6-4 Summit League) led by a comfortable margin for most of the game, jumping out to out to a 19-10 lead after the first quarter, then building the lead to 34-24 at halftime. In the third quarter, the Coyotes outscored the Pioneers 19-14, and in the fourth quarter, they took a 25-10 advantage to push the margin to 30 points.
USD limited Denver to just 33.3 percent shoot for the game and 22.2 percent from 3-point range.
