South Dakota tunes up for volleyball season at Missouri Valley favorite Northern Iowa

CEDAR FALLS, IA (Dakota News Now) – Before beginning their quest to win the Summit League and return to the NCAA Tournament, the South Dakota Coyote volleyball team played one final tune up against another team projected to win their league and head to volleyball’s version fo the “Big Dance”.

USD traveled to Cedar Falls, Iowa, on Saturday for an afternoon exhibition match with Northern Iowa, the preseason favorite to win the Missouri Valley Conference.

Since it was an exhibition match both teams agreed to play the full five sets with UNI defeating USD 4-1.

The Coyotes will open the season next Saturday at The Amy Svoboda Memorial Classic in Colorado Springs against Fordham.
