South Dakota troopers patrol for drunk drivers

RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) – If you happen to plan on celebrating the vacations with a drink or two, keep in mind that the South Dakota Division of Public Security is conducting sobriety checkpoints.

There can be 14 sobriety checkpoints in 12 counties all through December. The counties are: Pennington, Lawrence, Meade, Beadle, Brown, Lyman, Mellette, Minnehaha, Moody, Roberts, Stanley, and Walworth.

Checkpoints can be collectively operated by the state Freeway Patrol and native legislation enforcement businesses.
