South Dakota tribal members named to HUD advisory committee
Two South Dakota tribal leaders are a part of a brand new federal program geared toward bettering housing choices for American Indian and Alaska Native folks.
Rosebud Sioux Tribe Chairman Scott Herman and Oglala Sioux Tribe Council Member Tyler Yellow Boy are among the many 15 members on the Tribal Intergovernmental Advisory Committee (TIAC).
The U.S. Division of Housing and City Growth introduced that committee this week. Members will advise and coordinate federal housing packages for tribes throughout the nation.
The committee is born out of a 2021 Presidential memorandum that directed all federal businesses to take actions to strengthen their insurance policies and practices on Tribal session, in line with a press launch from HUD.
