SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – The Jackrabbits played a strong game Saturday in Carbondale, beating Southern Illinois 17-10 to remain unbeaten and ranked #1 in the country in FCS football.

That brings us to Saturday’s rivalry game in Vermillion when SDSU and USD are unbeaten in the Missouri Valley and both ranked in the top 10, It will be a fun environment no matter which side you’re on.

“The guys know who we’re playing. Will there be a heightened sense of urgency and energy, yeah. That’s what a rivalry game is all about. But at the end of the day we have to prepare the right way and kind of block out the outside noise and when it comes to the energy level, that’s for Saturday at the end of the day,” Rogers said.

The Jackrabbits have not lost since that opener at Iowa last year. But players who were on that team two years certainly remember what happened at the Dome. It should be a very fun environment with the most important game in rivalry history.
