Interstate 90 closure extended from Mitchell to Vivian
RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) – Interstate 90 from Vivian to Mitchell was closed at 4 p.m. Wednesday by the South Dakota Division of Transportation. That is exit 212 to 332. Mitchell to Sioux Falls was closed Tuesday night time.
The DOT advises drivers to plan accordingly and search lodge lodging at Murdo or Pierre. There’s restricted truck parking in Vivian.
I 90 from Sioux Falls to the Minnesota state line, in addition to I 29 to North Dakota, can be closed.
No journey advisories are in place for a lot of secondary highways throughout the state. This is because of excessive winds, blowing snow, and low visibility. DOT says that drivers shouldn’t attempt to use secondary roads to keep away from interstate closures.
The DOT, on the time of this put up, doesn’t have a timeline for reopening the interstates.
