Every month, SDPB shines a highlight on a selected subject. This month, we study Title IX. It is fifty years outdated this summer time. The federal regulation prohibits discrimination on the premise of intercourse in faculties that obtain federal funding.

We frequently hear about Title IX within the context of sports activities. However on college campuses, the Title IX workplace manages complaints associated to sexual harassment and sexual assault.

Michelle Johnson has been South Dakota State College Title IX coordinator for eight years. Over that point, she’s seen the rise of relationship apps and adjusted federal pointers.
