Dallas Goedert, Eagles rework contract to keep South Dakota native in Philadelphia

Dallas Goedert on team’s emotions after Hurts’ 46-yard TD pass to Devonta Smith
Eagles TE Dallas Goedert describes what the team was feeling after going up 34-0 in Super Bowl 59 versus the Kansas City Cheifs.
Sports Seriously
After weeks of trade speculation, Dallas Goedert will remain with the Philadelphia Eagles next season, according to multiple reports. The Philadelphia Inquirer was the first to report the news.
The Eagles and Goedert have negotiated a reworked contract that will keep the South Dakota native in Philadelphia.
The newly negotiated contract decreased Goedert’s salary by $4 million with a chance for $1 million in incentives.
When Goedert is healthy, he’s one of the top tight ends in the NFL, however, the Eagles have been looking to get younger at that position. Philadelphia was reportedly open to trading Goedert, 30, for a 2026 or 2027 fourth-round pick.
Goedert led the Eagles in receptions with 17 and receiving yards with 215 during their postseason run to the Super Bowl. In total, he played 10 games and logged 42 receptions for 496 yards.
Goedert was a second-round pick in 2018 out of South Dakota State.
