Riding its longest winning streak in two months, Ohio State will close out the regular season with a Sunday afternoon game at Rutgers.

Last Sunday, the Buckeyes enjoyed their most lopsided win against Michigan since 2005, handing the Wolverines an 84-61 defeat on senior day at Value City Arena. The win followed a 78-69 home victory against Nebraska, which followed a 60-57 win at Michigan State on a Dale Bonner 3-pointer with 0.2 seconds left. It’s the longest winning streak for the Buckeyes since they won four straight from Dec. 16-Jan. 3, and it has players believing a run to March Madness is still possible.

On Feb. 14, athletic director Gene Smith fired coach Chris Holtmann with six games remaining in his seventh season with the program. Four days later, interim head coach Jake Diebler and the Buckeyes took down No. 2 Purdue, 73-69, at Value City Arena, celebrating with a court-storming after the final whistle.

Ohio State leads the all-time series 12-5. The Buckeyes won the first meeting between the teams this year but came away from the game saying it still had a lot to work on.

Ohio State is coached by interim coach Jake Diebler. Rutgers is led by Steve Pikiell, who is in his eighth season with the Scarlet Knights.
