The Jazz got another scorer at No. 28 with Ohio State’s Brice Sensabaugh.
Sensabaugh’s a 19-year-old bonafide scorer, who impressed NBA scouts by taking and making a wide variety of tough shots during his freshman season with the Buckeyes. He wasn’t necessarily expected to be a one-and-done player coming into college — just a four-star recruit out of Florida — but popped at the collegiate level.
For the season overall, Sensabaugh averaged 16.3 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game on pretty impressive shooting numbers: 48% from the field, 40.5% from the 3-point line, and 83% from the free-throw line. The shot comes in a variety of situations, both catch-and-shoot and off the dribble.
The question marks come on the defensive end, where Sensabaugh took some plays off on defense while carrying the big scoring load. He fouled too much, and couldn’t keep opponents in front thanks to his big frame. The Jazz will need to improve that side of the ball significantly in order to keep Sensabaugh on the floor.
