SALINEVILLE, Ohio (WKBN) – Road work continues on a stretch of State Route 39 in Columbiana County.

ODOT kicked off a multi-phase project to completely replace the road from Salineville to Highlandtown. The project rehabilitates 4.5 miles of State Route 39 removing the existing concrete pavement and replacing it with new asphalt.

Currently, 39 is closed from State Route 164 to Clarks Mill Road and will remain closed for 60 days.

ODOT says the road has reached the end of its lifespan and needs a complete rebuild.
