Ohio Statehouse set to hold holiday festival and tree lighting today

COLUMBUS — The Ohio Statehouse will kick off December with its annual vacation competition and tree lighting later this night.

From 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., the statehouse will come alive as native choirs and dancers from OhioDance, and Drake Dance Academy fill the air with cheer.

At the beginning of the occasion, Gov. Mike DeWine will gentle the Christmas tree and welcome Santa and Mrs. Claus to the capital, based on a press launch from officers.

The press launch went on to say there will probably be cookies and a spread of arts and crafts.

The Ohio State Freeway Patrol’s Ok-9 unit is predicted to drop by to exhibit its abilities.

This family-friendly occasion is free to the general public and also will be live-streamed on OhioChannel.org.
