Ohio reports 6,890 new COVID-19 cases as weekly infections tick up
COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — The Ohio Division of Well being on Thursday reported 6,890 new COVID-19 instances for the previous week, a rise of greater than 2,000 over final week, because the state sees its third consecutive rise in infections.
Ohio averaged about 984 new coronavirus instances over the previous seven days, the best fee since March 4. Instances are up 43% over final week, 80% over two weeks in the past and 122% over three weeks in the past.

Thursday was the sixth launch of instances since ODH switched from every day to weekly reporting. The change coincided with new infections persevering with at a low stage after the omicron variant wave.
Hospitalization, demise and vaccine reporting are additionally weekly now. The 428 hospitalizations reported by ODH up to now seven days (about 61 per day) are 111 greater than final week.
