TOLEDO, Ohio (WKBN) – A Toledo man pleaded guilty this week to robbing a letter carrier at gunpoint.

Michael Bush, 22, pleaded guilty to robbery of mail, money, or other property of the United States, stealing mail collection box keys, and mail theft.

According to court documents, the letter carrier was robbed in July 2023 while sitting in a parked USPS truck. Bush grabbed keys to the mail truck and the collection boxes and then robbed the letter carrier at gunpoint of a personal cellphone and USPS scanner.

A witness who saw the robbery gave police a description of the suspect, and surveillance video further helped to identify a vehicle involved that was registered to Bush, investigators said.
