PROSPECT, Ohio — A 48-year-old Prospect man was killed Saturday when his ATV went off the highway and crashed right into a tree, in response to the State Freeway Patrol.

William Simmers died within the crash on South Predominant Road in Prospect, which is positioned in Marion County, 45 miles north of Columbus.

Troopers say Simmers was driving the ATV north on South Predominant Road when he went off the highway. Simmers was pronounced useless on the scene.

The patrol didn’t say what induced the crash, which stays beneath investigation.
