Four-Star Safety Cody Haddad Commits to Ohio State Buckeyes

Since the beginning of the new year, the Ohio State Buckeyes have been pulling away from the pack in the 2025 recruiting cycle.

On Saturday, that trend continued, with the Buckeyes landing a commitment from four-star St Ignatius (Cleveland, OH) safety Cody Haddad. Haddad picked the Buckeyes over Wisconsin, Texas A&M, and Purdue.

Haddad, who is the second pledge of the day for the Buckeyes, is now the 13th commitment of the class for Ohio State, as well as the ninth commitment on the defensive side of the ball.

Tight end Nate Roberts also committed to the program on Saturday, becoming the fourth offensive commitment of the class for the Buckeyes.

He is also the five commitment in the secondary along for Ohio State, alongside five-star corners Devin Sanchez and Na’eem Offord, as well four-star corners Blake Woodby and DeShawn Stewart. He is the first safety commitment of the class.

As it stands, Haddad ranks as a three-star recruit, the No. 440 overall player, No. 31 safety and No. 14 player in the state of Ohio, per the On3 Industry ranking. Rivals.com is the highest on Haddad, ranking him as a four-star recruit, the No. 24 safety and No. 15 player in Ohio.

Haddad was a jack of all trades for Ignatius, playing safety, wide receiver, kick returner and punt returner. He also played multiple sports, starting in track and basketball.
