West Fargo legislator wants to ban ‘approval voting’ in North Dakota; Fargo mayor opposes the bill

BISMARCK, N.D. (KFGO PRAIRIE PUBLIC RADIO) – A West Fargo lawmaker desires to ban “approval voting” in North Dakota.
Fargo is the one metropolis with that voting methodology. A voter can solid ballots for as many candidates as she or he desires – and the candidate with probably the most votes wins.
Republican Consultant Ben Koppelman – the invoice’s sponsor – testified earlier than the Home Political Subdivisions Committee. He stated this kind of voting dilutes the worth of the “one man-one vote” and the power of every voter to solid a single vote for a single workplace and it must be banned.
