Snow plow train derails northwest of Eldridge, ND

ELDRIDGE, N.D. — The Jamestown Rural Hearth Division responded to a snow plow prepare derailment on Friday, Dec. 23, northwest of Eldridge, in keeping with 2nd Capt. Rylee Woehl.

5 firefighters and one unit responded to the derailment at about 5:10 p.m. Woehl stated the division went to the scene as a part of a hazardous supplies response as a result of a gasoline tank was punctured on a prepare engine.

Woehl stated rural firefighters weren’t capable of get to the derailment due to the snow and snow drifts. He stated there was not entry highway for the firefighters to get to the scene.

“We have been capable of affirm with BNSF (Railway) that there have been no accidents,” he stated.

Woehl stated BNSF’s hazardous supplies crew have been heading to the scene.

The Rural Hearth Division was on scene for about 45 minutes, and no accidents have been reported.

The Jamestown Hearth Division additionally responded to the scene with two firefighters and one unit.
