Scranton couple given lifesaving awards for December rescue

BOWMAN, N.D. – A North Dakota couple credited with saving a person’s life has been acknowledged for his or her efforts.

Bowman County Sheriff Frank Eberle introduced lifesaver awards to John and Tessa Palczewski this week.

Simply earlier than Christmas, in the course of a blizzard, the Palczewskis discovered Larry Custer in his automobile by their feedlot south of Scranton, only a mile from the South Dakota border.

The 80-year-old Custer had gone lacking from his Dickinson residence and a statewide silver alert was issued for him.

Custer was alert and heat when the couple discovered him, and Tessa sat with him for about two hours whereas they waited for the authorities to reach.

Bowman County authorities say the Palczewskis went above and past to make Custer snug, and so they saved his life.

“You don’t see that fairly often. And so, while you do, it must be acknowledged as a result of it’s by excess of simply the correct factor to do,” stated Sgt. Colin Dunn with the Bowman County sheriff’s workplace.

Sergeant Dunn says the Palczewskis even dug Custer’s automobile out from the snow.
