Park River man dies in crash after hitting tree, state troopers say
PARK RIVER, N.D. — One person is dead after a crash in northeast North Dakota.
A 60-year-old Park River man died in a crash that happened at 5 a.m. Saturday, June 8, about 7 miles east of his hometown on State Highway 17, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol. He was driving a 2021 Ford F150 west on the highway when he went into a ditch and hit a tree, a news release said.
State troopers said the man, who was not identified, “failed to negotiate the curve” in the road. The crash remains under investigation, the release said.
Park River is about 55 miles northwest of Grand Forks.
