TRAILL COUNTY, N.D. (Valley News Live) – One man was arrested after hitting a sheriff’s patrol vehicle that was on scene of another accident Sunday around 7:45 p.m. about two miles south of Buxton.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, 24-year-old Body Cota of Bemidji, Minnesota, was driving south on I-29 when he struck an unoccupied Traill County Sherriff’s Office patrol vehicle.

The patrol vehicle was parked on the roadway with its emergency lights on, providing traffic control as crews worked on a single-vehicle rollover crash scene that had occurred earlier.

Cota suffered minor injuries, and was arrested for DUI and unlawful possession of controlled substances and paraphernalia. No other injuries were reported in either crash.
