North Dakota teachers receive awards during national teacher appreciation week ceremony
BISMARCK, N.D. (KFYR) – This week is National Teacher Appreciation Week, and to celebrate, the North Dakota Department of Public Instruction hosted an awards ceremony on Wednesday.
State Superintendent Kirsten Baesler welcomed the teachers to the State Capitol where a number were honored with Celebrating Excellence in North Dakota Education awards.
Other honors included the Milken Educator Award, National Board Certification, and the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching.
This was the first year for the ceremony, but DPI intends it to become a yearly event.
