North Dakota Guard soldiers to be honored for border mission

BISMARCK — North Dakota Nationwide Guard troopers shall be honored this weekend for his or her work on a U.S. border mission during the last yr.

Troopers and households of the Bismarck-based 957th Engineer Firm will attend a welcome dwelling ceremony on the Bismarck Occasion Middle at 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 8.

The Guard members shall be acknowledged for his or her assist of the U.S. Customs and Border Safety (CBP) mission alongside the southwest border.

The 957th helped the CBP by offering detection and monitoring assist, underneath route of the U.S. Northern Command and Joint Job Pressure North. About 120 Guard troopers served on this mission.

Two troopers have been acknowledged throughout the mission for his or her position in rescuing drowning migrants on March 22, 2022.
