North Dakota Department of Transportation worker seriously injured following afternoon I-94 crash

(Casselton, ND) — A North Dakota Division of Transportation (NDDOT) employee is critically injured following an accident that occurred on I-94 on Wednesday.

The North Dakota Freeway Patrol says the NDDOT was engaged on a cable median barrier on I-94 westbound close to mile marker 335. Visitors within the space was restricted to 1 lane because of the building work on the scene. The freeway was blocked by a two DOT vans, one with a plow and each holding lit-arrow boards alerting drivers of the closure. 

Authorities say a westbound automobile, pushed by 62-year-old White Bear Lake resident Charles Hart, struck the bottom of 1 DOT truck when the driving force failed to go away the soon-to-be closed lane,hanging the plow. Following the preliminary strike, the automobile entered the median and pinned a DOT employee, 46-year-old West Fargo resident Ryan Jamieson, to the barrier. After being freed, Jamieson was taken to Sanford Hospital. A youngster within the automobile pushed by Hart suffered minor accidents

The crash is underneath investigation by the North Dakota Freeway Patrol.
