BISMARCK, N.D. (KFYR) – Three finalists have been named to exchange Justice Gerald VandeWalle on the North Dakota Supreme Courtroom. VandeWalle, who has served 44 years on the Courtroom, introduced his retirement in November.

The state’s Judicial Nominating Committee critiques candidates and recommends them to the governor for appointment. The panel’s suggestions embrace South Central District Decide Doug Bahr of Bismarck, North Central District Decide Stacy Louser of Minot, and Assistant U.S. Lawyer Jake Rodenbiker of Fargo.

Governor Burgum has 30 days to pick a nominee, ask for an additional record, or name for a particular election.
