ND Highway Patrol: Sheyenne man hospitalized and flown to Bismarck hospital due to DUI crash

(Maddock, ND) — A North Dakota man was hospitalized over the weekend following a crash south of Maddock.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol says Donald Ystaas (71, Sheyenne, ND) was traveling southbound on Highway 30 when he left the roadway, striking the guardrail for a bridge. He was treated on the scene by first responders, taken to a nearby healthcare facility, then flown to Sanford in Bismarck due to the severity of his injuries.

Ystaas was charged and arrested for DUI.
