Montana motorcyclist hospitalized with ‘serious’ injuries after Williston crash
WILLISTON, N.D. — A motorcyclist from Montana was hospitalized in Fargo following a crash that took place late Friday night, June 16 in Williston.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol was dispatched at approximately 11:30 p.m. Friday to the crash. A 2008 GMC Yukon driven by 50-year-old Boise, Idaho resident Alex Diaz had attempted to make a left turn. As Diaz attempted the turn, a 2021 Yamaha motorcycle attempted to pass vehicles waiting to turn.
With Diaz partially through the turn, 20-year-old Reserve, Montana resident Keiran Hernandez struck the driver’s side of the Yukon.
Hernandez, who was not wearing a helmet, was transported to the Williston Medical Center before being taken to Fargo to treat “serious” injuries, a news release from the North Dakota Highway Patrol said.
Diaz was wearing a seat belt and was uninjured in the crash.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash. The Williston Police Department, Williston Fire Department and Williston Ambulance also responded to the crash.
