Man dies in single-vehicle crash near Edinburg, North Dakota

EDINBURG, N.D. – A North Dakota man died in a single-vehicle crash Saturday night in Walsh County.

In line with a report from the North Dakota Freeway Patrol, Jason Schatzke, 48, of Wheatland, North Dakota, died within the mishap, which occurred shortly after 9 p.m. on Nov. 12, 4 miles east of Edinburg on Walsh County Highway 9. The street was snow-covered on the time.

In line with the NDHP report, Christopher Thompson was driving a 2022 GMC Yukon when it left the roadway close to the intersection of 133rd Avenue Northeast and struck a tree. Schatzke died on the scene.

Thompson, 46, of Grafton, was charged with driving beneath the affect. Altogether, there have been six folks within the automobile on the time. One different passenger suffered minor accidents.

The crash stays beneath investigation by the North Dakota Freeway Patrol and Walsh County Sheriff’s Division.
