Male driver killed in pickup rollover accident on Interstate 94 near Oriska, ND
VALLEY CITY, N.D. — The driver was killed after the pickup he was driving hit ice and spun out of control on Interstate 94 in Barnes County.
The accident happened at about 1:15 a.m. on the morning of Saturday, Oct. 28, on Interstate 94 near Oriska, N.D., according to Capt. Bryan Niewind of the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
After the driver lost control, the pickup veered into the north ditch and rolled, ejecting both the driver and a 43-year-old female passenger, Niewind said.
Barnes County Ambulance took the driver to Mercy Hospital in Valley City, where he was pronounced dead. Sanford Air Med took the female passenger to Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, where her serious injuries are being treated, he said.
The identities of the driver and passenger will be made public on Sunday, Oct. 29. The crash remains under investigation.
