Major power outage affecting north Fargo

FARGO — Over 5,000 Xcel Energy customers are without power in north Fargo Tuesday night, Nov. 14, according to

The outages are scattered across the city north of Main Avenue and largely to the east of the North Dakota State University campus.

Power went out around 9 p.m. and is expected to be restored around midnight, according to Xcel.

The outages have impacted traffic lights, according to the Fargo Police Department. Three intersections currently are without power and crews from the city have installed temporary stop signs at those intersections, Fargo police told The Forum via email.

Intersections where traffic lights are out include:

  • 19th Avenue North and 10th Street North
  • 12th Avenue North and 10th Street North
  • Broadway and 19th Avenue North.
