BISMARCK, N.D. (KFYR) – A invoice that proponents mentioned would’ve lowered prescription drug costs for North Dakotans failed within the state Senate Thursday.

Senate Invoice 2031 would have began a pilot program for individuals on the North Dakota Public Workers Retirement System, or PERS, to deliver prescription drug prices in alignment with Canadian costs.

Pharmaceuticals in Canada are likely to value 65% to 80% lower than they do within the U.S.

The invoice failed by a vote of 14-33.
