North Dakota
Letter: Columnist is on the right track about rail bridge
Thanks, Tory Jackson on your wonderful piece on our historic river bridge.
Suspicion of twin tracks operating by means of downtown Bismarck is worthy of additional inquiry. If the Tribune would sort out this story, my guess is there can be many extra questions than solutions.
Can anybody think about two units of tracks by means of downtown Bismarck? One set already divides our enterprise district creating large challenges to metropolis planners and officers who need to enhance the ambiance and cohesion of north and south of the tracks.
If our state and native officers want to take a look at a profitable repurposing of an historic bridge, they want look no farther than Stillwater, Minnesota. Their previous elevate bridge is now part of town’s strolling and biking path system that’s tied into the established trails on the Wisconsin aspect of the St. Croix River. I’d hazard a guess that it has inspired improvement on each side of the river. Think about such a chance for Bismarck, Mandan and North Dakota. Bold cyclists would possibly even use it as a place to begin to experience to Medora and the paths within the Badlands.
