North Dakota State football returns to the field this weekend as the Bison begin Missouri Valley Conference play against South Dakota.

The Coyotes enter with a record of 2-1, beating St. Thomas and Lamar after losing their season opener to Missouri out of the Southeastern Conference.

USD is led by sophomore quarterback Aidan Bouman, who will be making his 8th career start on Saturday.

NDSU has some impressive stats and streaks associated with this game. The Bison have won 12 straight conference openers, the last time NDSU lost its first Valley game came in 2010, a 16-9 defeat to Northern Iowa.

The Bison have won six straight games against USD, all the while scoring points and running the ball at will against the Coyotes. NDSU has averaged over 35 points per game during that stretch, along with running for over 300 yards per game.

NDSU is relatively healthy heading into this game, as starting middle linebacker Nick Kubitz is the only real question mark after suffering an ankle sprain two weeks ago against Central Arkansas.

The Forum’s Jeff Kolpack and WDAY’s Dom Izzo preview the matchup with USD and also chat about the Hall of Fame festivities, as the 1983 National Championship team will be inducted.

Dom Izzo is the Sports Director at WDAY-TV. He began working for WDAY in 2006 as the weekend sports anchor and was promoted to Sports Director in 2010.
