Gov. Doug Burgum names new North Dakota commerce commissioner

BISMARCK — Gov. Doug Burgum has appointed Josh Teigen as North Dakota’s subsequent commerce commissioner.

“Together with his helpful mixture of expertise as a non-public sector entrepreneur and director of Commerce’s largest division, Josh is well-suited to guide the extremely succesful Division of Commerce group,” Burgum stated in an announcement issued Thursday, Sept. 1.

Teigen, who takes workplace Tuesday, can be accountable for “rising and diversifying the economic system, addressing workforce wants, chopping purple tape, creating wholesome, vibrant communities and rising our tourism sector,” Burgum stated.

Former commissioner James Leiman resigned on June 30 and now works because the chief improvement officer for the Institute for Economics and Peace. Shawn Kessel, chief working officer and deputy commerce commissioner, has served as interim commissioner in the course of the transition.
