Four Mandan teenagers injured in crash
MANDAN, N.D. (KFYR) – Four teenagers were injured after their SUV crashed into a tree in Mandan around 1 p.m. Wednesday.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol says a 16-year-old girl was driving the SUV west on 8th Street NW at a high rate of speed when it hit a patch of ice. She lost control of the SUV and it swerved off the road to the right. The SUV jumped the curb, crossed 5th Ave NW and again went off the roadway before hitting a tree and retaining wall.
A 16-year-old passenger, who was not wearing her seatbelt, was taken to the hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries. Two other passengers, ages 17 and 18, and the driver, were left with minor injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
