IOWA CITY — Ex-North Dakota offensive lineman Cade Borud has committed to Iowa via the transfer portal, he announced Saturday on social media.

Borud made the announcement after visiting during Iowa’s open practice on Saturday.

The Pleasant Hill native started 12 games at center in 2023 for North Dakota and earned recognition on the Missouri Valley Football Conference’s all-newcomer team.

Borud is the first player to commit to Iowa in this year’s spring transfer portal cycle. The 6-foot-2 offensive lineman was high school teammates with Iowa safety Xavier Nwankpa at Southeast Polk. He has three years of eligibility remaining.
