Fatal crash on icy roads near Williston

WILLISTON, ND — A deadly crash occurred round 6:30 p.m. on Friday, March tenth on Freeway 85, roughly 5 miles south of Williston, ND.

A Ford F-350, pushed by a 29-year-old man from Watford Metropolis, ND, had been driving south on Freeway 85 when the Ford misplaced management and crossed into the northbound lanes, in line with the North Dakota Freeway Patrol (NDHP), crashing into an oncoming Western Star Truck hauling a pneumatic sand trailer that had been touring north.

The Ford’s driver was not carrying a seatbelt on the time of the crash, in line with the NDHP, and was ejected from the car upon collision. The Ford driver was pronounced useless on scene.

The motive force of the Western Star Truck, a 67-year-old man from Bridger, MT, was transported to the hospital with critical non-life threatening accidents.

The roads have been icy with blowing snow, in line with the NDHP. A no journey advisory had been issued for the roadway.

The NDHP is investigating the crash.
