Ella Rettig, 85, of Jamestown, ND, handed away Friday, August 12, 2022 at Sheyenne Care Middle, Valley Metropolis, ND.

Ella (Karn) Rettig was born October 12, 1936, in Pettibone, ND, the daughter of Orville and Caroline (Mack) Karn. She moved along with her household to a number of North Dakota cities till the household settled on a farm close to Kensal, ND. Ella married Robert Rettig in Wimbledon, ND on July 15, 1961. Ella labored as a beautician and owned her personal salon in Wimbledon for a number of years. In 1967, the household moved to Jamestown, ND the place she labored for Judy’s Hair Fashions for a number of years. She started working for White Drug Enterprises on the company workplace in 1972. After the company workplace moved to Minneapolis, Ella remained with the corporate as auditor/particular initiatives coordinator till 1989 when she resigned. In 1989, Ella started work as supervisor of the Jamestown Mall till retiring in 2002. Robert died April 30, 2000.

Ella was a member of St. James Basilica, Holy Household Circle and St. James Tabernacle for a number of years. She cherished music, working in her yard, baking, and touring.

Ella is survived by two daughters, Daybreak (Steve) Udy, South Jordan, UT and Pleasure (Scott) Guthmiller, Jamestown; six grandchildren, Cody (Sharyl), Megan (Travis), Mike (Heidi), Alicia, and JoDee (Chris); eleven great-grandchildren, Brandon, Bailey, Briauna, Braxton, Bryson, Treyton, Alexis, Shayne, and Kori; two sisters, Irene (Cliff) Gumke, Jamestown and Rosa Ingold, CA; and lots of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in loss of life by her dad and mom; husband, Bob; brother, Orville Karn, Jr.; sister, Clara Oathoudt; sister-in-law, Joyce Karn; and two brothers-in-law, Cal Oathoudt and Philip Eckroth; and grandson, Steve Udy, Jr.

Visitation – 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at Eddy Funeral Dwelling.

Celebration of Life – 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at Eddy Funeral Dwelling.

Mass of Christian Burial – 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 18, 2022 at St. James Basilica, Jamestown.

Burial – Calvary Cemetery, Jamestown.
